Winter landscapes of Russian nature, which are transferred to the snow-covered fairy tale

Winter on the Russian land is a magical and unusual season. Summer time is on all continents and it will not surprise anyone, but the real winter with strong frosts and huge snowdrifts is not given to everyone. And whoever as artists are able to express the charm of this wonderful time on their canvases. As the classics of the domestic landscape genre never passed by the splendor of winter beauty, so our contemporaries enthusiastically glorify the Russian beauty-winter. A delightful collection of works by the remarkable landscape painter Dmitry Levin is a clear confirmation of this.

The blinding whiteness of the snow-covered forest, the majestic silence, the fields covered with snow, the villages in the winter decoration on the artist’s canvases create the illusion of a fairy tale that attracts and delights the viewer.

For where, like in painting, it is possible to convey what is very difficult to express in words. All the wonders done by mother nature fall on Dmitry Levin’s canvases and harden in time for centuries. In his paintings you can see all the delights of this amazing pore: snow-white covers of downy snow that covered the sleeping branches of trees and bushes, and the mirror smooth surface of frozen rivers, and deep snow, on which you can see traces of runners sledges and paws of forest dwellers and even hear as frost creaks and blizzard howls.

The pictures of the artist with the image of the winter sun, which makes its way through the thicket of the forest, create a stunning picturesque effect that looks magically and fascinating.

Despite the ease of perception, Dmitry Lyovin fills his work with deep meaning and certainty. In each landscape of the artist felt the magic power of art.

And apparently therefore, looking through the master’s canvases, the lyrical lines of Irina Samarina involuntarily suggest themselves:

My God, so I wanted to snow …
Flakes flying from heaven
That the earth dressed the bride
And the fog over the city disappeared …
Want first snowflakes, gentle,
To people forgetting the case –
Up looked at the gift of snow.
To say out loud: “Winter has come!”
I want to hear the laughter of the kids
With admiration, touching the snow.
The evenings in winter are kinder and quieter,
And the veil of frozen rivers glitters.
I want winter, so in this world
It became all at least a little whiter.
Let the snowflakes fly all over the world
Joy bringing in the hearts of people.
My God, so I wanted to snow …
Flakes flying from heaven
That in winter human soul warmed
Waiting for happiness and wonders …

The painting technique of the master is unusual for the winter landscape – he practically does not use pure white color. The bright colorful palette, so unusual for the monochrome of this season, for Dmitry Levin is his trademark, unique style and author’s handwriting. Harmony, tranquility and peace can be traced in each of his creations. This attracts the master to his work of many connoisseurs.
