Syrian artist paints delicate watercolor portraits of oriental beauties
Watercolor – something that is impossible to resist. Capricious and unpredictable, like a true woman, she knows exactly how to behave depending on your mood and situation. Today – light and careless, shrouded in soft mysterious colors and hues, tomorrow – bold and bright, with catchy accents on someone’s cheeks and lips. That is why only the most courageous artists do not hesitate to give her their preference. After all, having met her once, you will not trade her for anything else. It is the same as giving the soul to the devil, having received in return the opportunity to create in a similar technique and style, completely surrendering to the beloved work. In fact, Rahaf Dk Albab (Rahaf Dk Albab) – an artist from Syria, having made her choice in favor of watercolor, never regretted it.
It would seem that the new can be said about watercolor? Yes, only this naughty type of painting “sounds” every time in a new way, if only some artist touches his hands with his hands. After all, someone watercolor sounds like loud drum beats, crisp and deaf, and Damascus resident Rahaf Dk Albab, on the contrary, is like a small and tender pipe. Her works are imbued with a certain warmth and mystery, which you begin to feel only after a long time looking at the details.
The subtlety of the selection of colors and forms is truly amazing: here is a young mother holding her long-awaited child, and the spray of paint and the basic tones themselves resemble the cosmos – as vast and immense as motherly love. But the canvas, on which the artist depicts music, deserve special attention. They have sharp, sharp lines that give the work dynamics, create the feeling of a slender musical staff. And the hands of themselves and stretch to them, as if to the strings of a guitar or thin strings on a violin bow, in the desire to play the main melody of their lives.
The binding of lines and sketches, the soft flow of paint, which seems to fall at the behest of the artist herself, and at least the universal forces – what attracts the eye to these works, makes longer look at the details, look for bead-eyes in small birds and bottomless pupils of Arab women shrouded in a bright burqa. But behind all this variegated diversity lies quite unexpected, but such an amazing conclusion.
The artist paints so many unusual and vivid pictures, thereby trying to diversify not only her own, but also the lives of all Arab women bound by the complex framework of Islam. Here, in her paintings, they can be free, dressed in beautiful, light clothing, which emphasizes their beauty, can dance, wriggling and lifting up the floor of a strict hat, or play the guitar while sitting in the rays of the setting sun.
In her works there is a small world, which tells about women’s happiness and freedom, which are sometimes so lacking and which are often hidden beyond the bounds of faith and a dull everyday routine.
In the continuation of the theme – exotic paintings in the style of sultry Africa, where the artist in all its glory showed music, drive and colorful skirts.
