Roman Romanov – an artist who makes nature come to life on his canvases

The Siberian land has raised a lot of generations of artists, who for more than one century have glorified this wonderful land in their works. Where, as in Siberia, in our time one can come into contact with the pristine beauty of nature, not spoiled by civilization, plunge into its clear waters, drink from its springs. All this is the favorite theme of contemporary landscape artists Siberians. One of them, Roman Romanov, reveals the secret of the success of his work: “I just open a window for the audience to taste the freshness of winter Siberian air, the scent of fresh autumn foliage and hear the sound of a summer, cool forest” …

The master from Siberia attracts admirers of his talent in the first place with his extraordinary, unique to him, manner of writing. The natural environment in his works does not look static, that is, frozen – as in the photographs. The artist masterfully gives the viewer the impression that everything around is moving dynamically.

This technique is very noticeable on the water surface of ponds, rivers, and backwaters, which seem to rattle from gusts of wind, creating small waves that form circles or even small ripples. And you can also notice how the grass is waving on the sides of the road and how the wind sways the branches of the trees, how their foliage trembles and how white clouds run across the sky. This dynamism is very effective in the painting of Romanov, it fascinates even the experienced viewer.

In each work of the artist, you can see the harmonious combination of colors and light and shade, and the airspace, which as if light haze falls on the picture plane. In addition, the soft technique of applying oil paints on canvas creates the illusion of transparency in watercolor.

In all these subtle nuances can be traced the author’s style and style of the master, which is also saturated with the emotional atmosphere – peace of peace and tranquility.

Thanks to his unique technique and style, Roman G. gained recognition among not only art lovers, but also among critics. Practically all the master’s works in today are in private and corporate domestic collections at home and abroad.

Excellent mastery of pattern, composition, chiaroscuro.

Roman Gennadievich Romanov was born in 1966 in Kemerovo, in the south of Western Siberia. In the city, built among the amazing Siberian nature, where its grandeur, beauty and scale are simply stunning. And it is quite natural that this atmosphere contributed to the fact that Roman began to get involved in drawing from early childhood, and after school he entered the Kazan Art School. In the 90s it was hard, and he took up the design of industrial facilities and auto design. But the last almost twenty years is engaged exclusively in painting.

To date, the artist Romanov is a member of the Professional Union of Artists of Russia. He lives and works in St. Petersburg. He is a regular participant in domestic and international exhibitions. Especially warmly accepted the work of the master in France, the city of Orleans in 2006 at the exhibition “Romantigue Russe”.
